My friend, Sam, learned to hear the Angels. He expended a substantial amount of effort to create a space in his life where it was safe for him to do this. While learning, he heard many negative comments and withstood almost constant jibes from family and friends who wanted him to remain his "normal" self. Still, he made the decision to use his gifts and talents to the fullest. He was happy, proud of his accomplishments and very eager to share his abilities by leading meditations and facilitating healing groups. Whenever Spirit gave him information about a person, he generously told them what he knew.

Sam found, though, that people just wouldn't listen. To his consternation, they weren't interested in what Spirit had to say about them. Not able to accept this, he pressed on and pushed harder. He blurted out in eagerness and the best of intentions, whatever he sensed.

"I just don't get it, Cath," he said. "Why would someone not want to know? Why wouldn't they want to get up off their seats and do what Spirit suggests? Why would they continue as they are and close themselves off to what I have to tell them?"
