More Than 15 Minutes of Fame
By Catherine Kasper
Summary: What if you learned how to Talk With Your Angels and it threw you into the spotlight? Catherine M. Kasper and the Angels of Abundance tell you how to cope with it in this excerpt from the How To Talk With Your Angel E-Course.
Here's the entire article!
She elegantly emerges from the limousine, assisted by a tall man wearing a tuxedo. Hundreds of camera shutters click. A thousand flashes of brilliant light reflect from her beautiful face as she poses for photographers. She moves in almost slow motion into the building. How can she walk straight after that, I wonder? Doesn't the light blind her? Her love of being in the spotlight is so great she revels in the bursts of light, not caring what the impact is.
Angel messages often come in flashes - short bursts of intense light. Do you stand in them the way the often-photographed celebrities do? Or do you hide your face with your hands?
It has been said that most people would rather be dead than stand up in front of a group of people and say something. In the movie, "When Harry Met Sally", one of the characters says, "That means, if you were at a funeral, you'd rather be the corpse than the person giving the eulogy." Some don't feel that way, however. My friend, Mike, regularly speaks in front of huge groups of people as part of his employment. "I never met a microphone I didn't like," he quips when I ask how it makes him feel.
I live in a town of about 10 thousand inhabitants a 30-minute drive away from a major metropolitan area. In town there is only one radio station which has been broadcasting music for the past 50 years. The station employs two or three DJ's; kindly older men with sonorous, easily recognizable voices who can be seen, microphones in hand, interviewing people at the various festivals and events that occur in town throughout the year. Pretend one of them approaches you. Are you able to talk with him? Does his friendly face and welcoming manner put you at ease or do you focus instead on your fear of the microphone and the fact that your voice will be heard in all the houses where the radio is tuned to that station?
Which type of person are you? Are you one who loves to be in the spotlight or one who'd rather be dead? Do you allow the spotlight of Angelic whispering to shine on you even for brief moments, their loving kindness putting you at ease? Do you run from it as many run from the welcoming and inclusive radio DJ's microphone?
Pretend you are sitting in your booth at a street festival, paints and brushes at the ready, painting the face of a coworker because there aren't any children lined up at that very moment. You feel goofy and silly after sitting there for hours having painted over 50 faces. The photographer from the newspaper walks past. He wants to take your picture. Are you open to the attention? What is your first reaction? This happened to me and mine was, "Oh no, I've been sitting here in the wind and misty rain for hours. What does my hair look like?"
How willing are you to be in the spotlight with no prior notice? How willing are you to have the light shine on you for the moment? How willing are you to realize you're experiencing the "15 minutes of fame" everyone is predicted to have but that there's more for you than just 15 minutes? Are you willing to be further illuminated? Are you willing to step into what could amount to a lifetime of recognition because you are able to hear the Angels?
In the mall nearby there is a shop called Illuminations. They sell what are to me the most wonderfully scented candles I have ever come across. The lighting in the shop is purposely kept so low that it looks dark inside upon entering. As your eyes adjust, you notice the light from the many candles lit in the displays in several areas of the store. The effect is enchanting. Are you willing to sit in the figurative dark and be illuminated by the flame the Angel's message plies across your awareness? Are you willing to allow yourself to be enchanted?
Willingness to allow the light to shine on you is essential if you wish to hear the Angels. Is it blinding? Not if you keep your focus on your direction as the celebrities do. Is it scary? Not if you welcome whoever is tuned in and listening, as DJ's do in order to be on the radio. Is it embarrassing? Not if you don't care who sees your photo in the paper even though you would rather have hidden.
Are you willing to stand in the total love the Angels have for you? Will you allow it to appear in events of your day as surprising flashes of illumination? Angels surprise us sometimes. You'll be doing something and "flash" their voices pop up in your consciousness. You'll have a revelation, sudden insight or simply find yourself suffused with love. Are you willing to be touched by the fact that they happily stand with you in your human state? Are you willing to have more than your 15 minutes of fame? Are you willing to let light shine on you and bring the messages in? Are you willing to let people "find out" that you truly hear the Angels?
How is your life different from the way it was before you could hear the Angels? What types of attention-positive or negative-have you stood in as you used your skill? In what ways do you feel like a celebrity? What events have you wanted to hide from? What occurrences have you thoroughly enjoyed? Please write to me at Catherine@AngelicAbundance.com I am very interested in hearing your stories.
Whatever the events that occur, bask in the light they contain for the light is full of love. Remember that love is, love always is. And so it is. The Angels of Abundance™
